History
Foreldrar: Ólafur Helgi Jensson kaupmaður á Hofsósi og kona hans, Lilja Haraldsdóttir. Maki: Jóhanna Ágústsdóttir. Ólst upp á Hofsósi en fluttist með foreldrum sínum til Siglufjarðar árið 1922, þar sem hann gekk í unglingaskóla og síðan til Vestmannaeyja árið 1927. Þar störfuðu þeir feðgar við póststörf til 1930. Það ár réðst Baldur í Útvegsbanka Íslands í Vestmannaeyjum. Vann þar sem ritari, gjaldkeri og útibússtjóri frá árinu 1953. Hann gegndi því starfi til 1968 að hann tók við útibústjórastörfum í Kópavogi. Tók einnig virkan þátt í félagslífi, ma. í Oddfellowreglunni. Var vararæðismaður Norðmanna í Eyjum. Maki: Jóhanna Ágústsdóttir frá Kiðabergi í Vestmannaeyjum. Þau eignuðust 3 börn en fyrir átti Jóhanna eina dóttur.
