Biographical history
Skúli Þórðarson Thorlacius (1741–1815), fornfræðingur, heimspekingur og rektor. Fæddur að Teigi í Fljótshlíð 10. apríl 1741 sonur Þórðar Thorlacius og Kristínar Sigurðardóttur. Varð stúdent 1758 eftir nám í Skalholti. Hélt til Kaupmannahafnar sama ár, lauk lárviðarprófi í heimspeki 1761 og guðfræðiprófi 1765, hlaut meistaranafnbót í heimspeki 1768. Varð rektor latínuskólans í Kolding 1769 og rektor frúarskóla í Kaupmannahöfn, helsta latínuskóla Danmerkur, 1777. Kvæntist prestdótturinni Agatha Riisbrigh (d. 1825) árið 1770. Lést í Kaupmannahöfn 1815.

Edda á íslensku og latínu. Skúli Þórðarson Thorlacius ritaði inngang (á latínu) en Gyldal gaf bókina út árið 1787 í Höfn.
