History
Foreldrar: Jóhann Jóhannsson b. í Saurbæ og Þuríður Símonardóttir. Eymundur ólst upp í Saurbæ og tók við búi foreldra sinna árið 1915. Eymundur varð brátt þátttakandi í hinni hægfara framþróun til bættrar afkomu bændastéttarinnar. Árið 1921 kvæntist hann Ástríði Jónsdóttur frá Krithóli, þau eignuðust fjögur börn og tóku einn fósturson.
