Biographical history

Guðmundur Helgason bóndi Árnesi, Skagafirði, fæddist í Víkurkoti Akrahreppi 30. júní 1943. Hann lést á heimili sínu 9. apríl 2013.
Foreldrar Guðmundar voru Snjólaug Guðmundsdóttir sem var fædd á Starrastöðum, Lýtingsstaðahreppi, 13. maí 1913, d. 23. júlí 1995, og Helgi Ingimar Valdimarsson, fæddur í Stokkhólma, Akrahreppi, 1. nóvember 1898, d. 28. ágúst 1982. Guðmundur var einkabarn þeirra hjóna auk uppeldissonar Helga, en árið 1935 ættleiddi Helgi ungan dreng, Baldur Hólm, síðar bónda á Páfastöðum.
Guðmundur giftist eiginkonu sinni, Dagnija Medne, f. 3.9. 1963, frá Lettlandi. Börn þeirra eru: Helgi Mednis Guðmundsson, f. 1. nóvember 2002, og tvíburarnir Kristján Juris Mednis Guðmundsson og Ólína Snjólaug Medne Guðmundsdóttir, f. 22. mars 2004.
