History

Halldór Maríus Svanur Jónsson fæddist á Daðastöðum á Reykjaströnd 10. desember 1934. Foreldrar hans voru Sigfríður Jóhannsdóttir og Jón Jónsson, bóndi á Daðastöðum og síðar á Steini á Reykjaströnd. Halldór flutti 1946 með foreldrum sínum í Stein á Reykjaströnd og hóf þar búskap og var bóndi alla sína tíð en vann einnig utan heimilis samhliða búskapnum. Halldór starfaði sem fláningsmaður um langt árabil við sauðfjárslátrun í gamla Sláturhúsi Kaupfélags Skagfirðinga á Sauðárkróki. Halldór vann hjá Fiskiðju Skagfirðinga frá 1980 allt til ársins 2005. Í fyrstu starfaði hann við löndun og síðar við skreiðarverkun. Halldór sinnti einnig ýmsum félagsmálum. Halldór kvæntist árið 1968 Höllu Kristrúnu Guðmundsdóttur frá Veðramóti, þau eignuðust fjögur börn.
