History
Sonur Daníels Sigurðssonar og s.k.h. Sigríðar Sigurðardóttur. Ólst upp í Húnavatnssýslu. Þegar hann var 24 ára gamall hóf hann búskap með Gísla bróður sínum á Steinsstöðum. Kvæntist árið 1918 Jónínu Guðrúnu Einarsdóttur, þau bjuggu um tíma í Merkigarði, í Efra-Lýtingsstaðakoti og í Bakkaseli. Eftir tíu ára búskap í Bakkaseli voru þau um tíma á Sjávarborg en fluttu í Steinsstaði 1940, síðast búsett í Laugahvammi. Ingólfur fékkst töluvert við tamningar og skeifna- og söðlasmíði. Ingólfur og Jónína eignuðust fimm börn, fyrir hjónaband átti Ingólfur eina dóttur.
