Biographical history
Fæddur í Holti í Önundarfirði. Foreldrar: Stefán Pétursson Stephensen (1829-1900) og Guðrún Pálsdóttir Stephensen (1825-1896). Stúdent frá Lærða skólanum 1884, cand. theol. frá prestaskólanum 1886. Veitt Kirkjubólsþing og Staður á Snæfjallaströnd 1886. Bjó á Melgraseyri. Veitt Holt í Önundarfirði 1908 og sat þar til 1929. Fluttist til Reykjavíkur en fór til þjónustu í Holtsprestakalli undir Eyjafjölum 1930-1932, var í Nesprestakalli í Norðfirði 1934-1935.
Maki: Helga Þorvaldsdóttir Stephensen (1832-1912). Þau eignuðust 5 börn.
