Foreldrar: Sveinn Arason og Guðbjörg Benjamínsdóttir. Jakobína ólst upp hjá Birni Þorkelssyni og Guðlaugu Gunnlaugsdóttur á Sveinsstöðum. Kvæntist Agli Benediktssyni, þau bjuggu á Sveinsstöðum 1904-1919 og 1925-1935. Þau eignuðust sex börn saman, einnig átti Jakobína son með Helga Daníelssyni á Steinsstöðum.
