Fæddur í Héraðsdal. Foreldrar: Einar Jónsson bóndi í Héraðsdal og kona hans Dagbjört Björnsdóttir. Bóndi í Héraðsdal frá 1914-1922. Forðagæslumaður og sóknarnefndarmaður, í hreppsnefnd Lýtingsstaðahrepps og formaður Lestrafélags Goðdalasóknar og bókagæslumaður. Lét af búskap vegna heilsubrests. Fluttist eftir það til Guðjóns sonar síns á Tunguhálsi og var fyrst um sinn í húsmennsku þar. Maki: Sigríður Sigurðardóttir, þau áttu einn son.
