History
Jón Gamalíelsson fæddist í Réttarholti í Blönduhlíð i Skagafirði 23. mars 1923. Foreldrar hans voru María Rögnvaldsdóttir og Gamalíel Sigurjónsson. ,,Jón kvæntist 19. september 1964 Jónu Guðbergsddttur frá Neðri Hjarðardal í Dýrafirði. Jón lærði rafvirkjun við Iðnskólann á Siglufirði og starfaði við iðnina til 1957 bæði innanlands og í Noregi. Þá hóf hann nám í rafmagnstæknifræði við Oslo Tekniske Skole. Að loknu námi 1960 kom Jóu heim og fór að vinna hjá Rafmagnsveitum ríkisins. Árið 1967 hóf hann störf hjá Rafmagnseftirliti ríkisins og vann þar til starfsloka 1994. Auk þess starfaði Jón sem stundakennari við Iðnskólann og Tækniskóla Íslands."
