History
Jón Hjaltdal Jónsson, f. 24.06.1911 á Hofi í Hjaltadal. Foreldrar: Jóhann Guðmundsson, d. 1876 og Birgitta Guðmundsdóttir, f. 1881 bændur í Brekkukoti (nú Laufskálum). Jón fluttist með foreldrum sínum í Brekkukot í Hjaltadal tveggja ára gamall. Hann lauk búfræðinámi frá Hólaskóla árið 1932. Árið 1934 flutti hann úr föðurhúsum og stundaði að mestu sjálfstæðan atvinnurekstur sem bifreiðarstjóri eftir það. Jón var umboðsmaður Tryggingar hf á Sauðárkróki í 35 ár. Sat í sóknarnefnd Sauðárkrókskirkju og var safnaðarfulltrúi um tíma og meðhjálpari frá 1977-1992. Maki: Sigríður Árnadóttir frá Atlastöðum í Svarfaðardal. Þau eignuðust fjögur börn.
