Ingimar Bogason fæddist á Syðra-Skörðugili á Langholti í Skagafirði 18. maí 1911. ,,Foreldrar hans voru hjónin Bogi Gíslason bóndi á Syðra-Skörðugili og kona hans Þorbjörg Ólafsdóttir. Ingimar kvæntist 30. maí 1943 Engilráði Sigurðardóttur frá Hvammi í Svartárdal og hófu þau búskap að Halldórsstöðum í Seyluhreppi. Þau fluttu til Sauðárkróks árið 1945 og bjuggu þar síðan, lengst af á Freyjugötu 34, þau hjónin eignuðust fjóra syni."
