History
Foreldrar: Bergur Sveinsson b. síðast á Mánaskál í Laxárdal fremri, og k.h. Jóhanna Sveinsdóttir. Pálína missti föður sinn sex ára gömul og ólst upp hjá vandalausum eftir það. Um tvítugt flutti hún til Reykjavíkur og vann á búinu í Tungu við Suðurlandsbraut. Flutti aftur norður í Skagafjörð 1925 að Ási í Hegranesi og vann þar um tveggja ára skeið en fluttist þá til Sauðárkróks þar sem hún kynntist mannsefni sínu, Páli Þorgrímssyni, þau voru alla tíð búsett á Sauðárkróki. Pálína tók virkan þátt í réttindabaráttu verkakvenna, ein af stofnendum Vkf. Öldunnar og sat í stjórn þess um skeið. Pálína og Páll eignuðust fimm börn.
