Pétur Guðmundsson, f. 18.06.1887. Foreldrar: Guðmundur Sigurðsson og Þuríður Lilja Stefánsdóttir, búsett í Vatnshlíð í A-Húnavatnssýslu. Maki: Herdís Grímsdóttir frá Syðri-Reykjum í Biskupstungum. Þau eignuðust þrjár dætur. Bjuggu í Vatnshlíð en fluttu á Sauðárkrók 1938 og bjuggu þar til æviloka.
