History
Sonur Lárusar Stefánssonar b. í Skarði og s.k.h. Sigríðar B. Sveinsdóttur. Pétur hóf ungur búskap í Kálfárdal. 1923-1926 stundaði hann ýmsa daglaunavinnu, m.a. á Sauðárkróki, Siglufirði og víðar. Árið 1926 keypti hann jörðina Ytri-Ingveldarstaði og bjó þar í eitt ár. Það ár kvæntist hann Kristínu Danivalsdóttur frá Litla-Vatnsskarði. Árið 1927 keypti hann jörðina Stein á Reykjaströnd þar sem hann bjó þar til hann brá búi árið 1946 og fluttist til Keflavíkur. Eftir að þangað kom vann Pétur mest við skipasmíðar en gerðist síðar húsvörður við barnaskólann í Keflavík. Pétur og Kristín eignuðust fimm börn.
