History
Fæddur og uppalinn á Dýrfinnustöðum í Blönduhlíð. Foreldrar hans voru María Jóhannesdóttir og Runólfur Jónsson. ,,Sigurjón lauk prófi sem búfræðingur frá Bændaskólanum á Hólum í Hjaltadal 1940. Hann axlaði ungur ábyrgð á æskuheimilinu ásamt móður sinni, ömmu og elstu systkinum, þegar faðir hans missti heilsuna. Sigurjón tók alfarið við búinu sem bóndi á Dýrfinnustöðum í Akrahreppi í Skagafirði árið 1937. Hann var í sveitarstjórn Akrahrepps um árabil og m.a. formaður bygginganefndar. Sigurjón studdi margskonar menningarstarf og vann ötullega að uppbyggingarmálum í sveitinni. Hann var vel hagmæltur og eiga margir vinir hans í fórum sínum vísur og kvæði eftir hann. Sigurjón hætti ekki búskap fyrr en heilsa hans brást. Áttatíu og tveggja ára fluttist hann ásamt eiginkonu sinni til Sauðárkróks." Sigurjón kvæntist 4. júlí árið 1963 Sigríði Guðrúnu Eiríksdóttur, þau eignuðust saman eina dóttur. Fyrir átti Sigríður eina dóttur. Sigurjón og Sigríður áttu einnig einn uppeldisson.
