Staðarhreppur er vestan Héraðsvatna í Skagafjarðarsýslu, kenndur við kirkjustaðinn Reynistað. Hinn 6. júní 1998 sameinaðist hreppurinn 10 öðrum sveitarfélögum í Skagafirði: Skefilsstaðahreppi, Sauðárkrókskaupstað, Skarðshreppi, Seyluhreppi, Lýtingsstaðahreppi, Rípurhreppi, Viðvíkurhreppi, Hólahreppi, Hofshreppi og Fljótahreppi, og mynduðu þau saman Sveitarfélagið Skagafjörð.

Ingvar Gýgjar Jónsson afhenti safninu hreppsbókina en hún fannst í gömlu púlti sem er brotið eftir brunann í Steinholti. Kemur úr fórum Jóns Jónssonar hreppstjóra á Hafsteinsstöðum.
