History
Fæddist að Hóli í Sæmundarhlíð. Heimildum ber ekki saman um fæðingarár. Skagfirskar æviskrár segja að hann hafi fæðst 20. nóvember 1962 en í Íslendingabók er hann talinn hafa fæðst árið 1863. Þórarinn var búfræðingur frá Hólum. Kvæntur Sigríði Þorleifsdóttur (1864-1949). Þau fluttu vestur til Winnipeg í Manitoba árið 1887. Þórarinn fór niður um ís á Winnipegvatni og drukknaði í desember 1890.
