Árni Þorsteinsson, f. í Úthlíð í Biskupstungum 17.03.1851, d. 14.08.1919 á Kálfatjörn í Vatnsleysustrandarhreppi. (f. 17.02.1851, skv. kirkjubók). Foreldrar: Þorsteinn Þorsteinsson garðyrkjumaður og bóndi og Sesselja Árnadóttir.
Stúdent frá Lærða skólanum 1878, Cand theol. frá Prestaskólanum 18. ágúst 1880. Aðstoðarprestur í Saurbæ í Eyjafirði 1880. Prestur í Ríp í Hegranesi 1881, á Miklabæ í Óslandshlíð 1884 og Kálfatjörn á Vatnsleysuströnd 1886. Þjónaði þar til æviloka. Sýslunefndarmaður í Gullbringusýslu 1908-1918.
Maki: Ingibjörg Valgerður Sigurðardóttir (1848-1925). Þau eignuðust átta börn.
