Börn í skrúðgöngu á leið út á Eyri til að taka þátt í hátíðarhölum 17. júní 1944. Hátíðarhöldin hófust í kirkjunni en síðan var gengið í fylkingu út á Eyrina. Á annað hundrað börn gengu fremst og báru litla fána. Á eftir börnunum komu fullorðnir, en fremstur í þeirri fylkingu bar merki Skagfiðinga frá Alþingishátíðinni 1930.
