Biographical history
Sigurjón fæddist á Gunnsteinsstöðum í Langadal. Foreldrar hans voru Jónas Jónsson og Vigdís Guðmundsdóttir bændur á Hólakoti á Reykjaströnd. Bóndi í Hólakoti á Reykjaströnd 1903-1922 og á Skefilsstöðum á Skaga 1922-1953, bjó áfram á Skefilsstöðum hjá syni sínum. Sigurjón kvæntist Margréti Stefánsdóttur frá Daðastöðum og eignuðust þau fimm syni.
