Biographical history
Sigurður Guðmundsson, f. í Reykjavík 14.08.1900, d. 24.12.1986 í Reykjavík. Foreldrar: Guðmundur Sigurðsson klæðskerameistari í Reyjavík (1876-1956) og Svanlaug Benediktsdóttir húsfreyja (1880-1918).
Sigurður lærði ljósmyndun hjá Carli Ólafssyni í Reykjavík 1915-1917. Tók einnig tveggja ára framhaldsnám í Danmörku. Var um skeið ljósmyndari á ljósmyndastofu Jóns Kaldals 1925-1926. Stofnaði ljósmyndastofu í Reykjavík 1927 og rak hana til um 1978.
Maki 1: Ingibjörg Guðbjarnadóttir (1903-1982) húsfreyja. Þau eignuðust eina dóttur. Þau skildu.
Maki 2: Elínborg Ása Guðbjarnadóttir (1908-1984) ljósmyndari og húsfreyja. Þau eignuðust tvær dætur.
