History
Dóttir Jóns Þ. Björnssonar skólastjóra á Sauðárkróki og Geirlaugar Jóhannesdóttur. Ólst upp á Sauðárkróki. Nam við Hjúkrunarkvennaskóla Íslands og stundaði síðan framhaldsnám í barnahjúkrun og öðru tengdu hjúkrun og kennslu í Chicago 1946-47, í St. Louis 1947-48 og einnig í New York. Lauk síðan hjúkrunarkennaranámi í London 1953. Hjúkrunarkona á röntgendeild og lyflækningadeild Landspítalans 1945-46, deildarhjúkrunarkona við sjúkrahúsið á Akureyri hluta árs 1945. Kennari við Hjúkrunarskóla Íslands 1948-1953 og skólastjóri Hjúkrunarskóla Íslands 1954-1983, þar af í starfsleyfi 1977-78. Vann mikið að félagsmálum hjúkrunarfræðinga og sat í nefndum sem mótuðu nám hjúkrunarfræðinga á Íslandi. Síðast bús. í Reykjavík.
