Sólveig Jónsdóttir fæddist í Smiðsgerði í Kolbeinsdal hinn 25. september 1917. Foreldrar hennar voru hjónin Hólmfríður Jónsdóttir frá Fornastöðum í Fnjóskadal og Jón Ferdinandsson, þau bjuggu um tíma í Smiðsgerði. ,,Sólveig giftist hinn 13. apríl 1941 Óla A. Guðlaugssyni frá Bárðartjörn í Höfðahverfi. Árið 1944 hófu Sólveig og Óli sinn búskap á Þórðarstöðum í Fnjóskadal. Fjórum árum síðar fluttust þau hjónin með dætrum sínum til Akureyrar að Lækjargötu 6 þar sem þau bjuggu í nokkur ár. Árið 1955 fluttust þau í Oddeyrargötu 10. Sólveig vann nokkur sumur í mjólkursamlagi KEA á Akureyri og þaðan lá leið hennar í klæðskeraverslun Sigurðar Guðmundssonar þar sem hún vann í nokkur ár. Árið 1974 fluttust Sólveig og Óli að Ásvegi 13 þar sem þau bjuggu til ársins 1994 er þau fluttu í Lindarsíðu 4. Þar bjuggu þau til ársins 2003." Sólveig og Óli eignuðust fjórar dætur.
