History
Foreldrar: Valdemar Helgi Guðmundsson bóndi á Fremri-Kotum og síðar Bólu og kona hans Arnbjörg Guðmundsdóttir. Guðmundur ólst upp hjá foreldrum sínum á Fremri-Kotum og fór með þeim að Bólu 1924. Eftir að móðir hans lést í nóvember 1938 bjuggu þeir feðgar áfram í Bólu. Valdemar lést í nóvember 1966 en Guðmundur bjó í Bólu til æviloka, oftast einn. Nokkur síðustu árin var hjá honum piltur, Gunnar Sigurðsson að nafni, er kom til hans ellefu eða tólf ára. Guðmundur var lengi formaður sóknarnefndar Silfrastaðakirkju og vann mikið að málefnum hennar. Guðmundur var ókvæntur og barnlaus.
