History
Foreldrar: Ásgrímur Stefánsson og k.h. Sigmunda Skúladóttir. Helga ólst upp hjá foreldrum sínum í Efra- Ási til 17 ára aldurs er hún fluttist með móður sinni til Siglufjarðar og var þar til ársins 1933, að hún fluttist aftur að Efra Ási og hóf þar búskap með Pétri M. Runólfssyni manni sínum. Hann lést árið 1962. Þá lét Helga af búskap og var næstu árin starfsmaður við skólann á Hólum. Síðustu árin bjó hún á Hofsósi og Sauðárkróki. Helga og Pétur eignuðust þrjár dætur og tóku einn fósturson.
