Biographical history
Sonur Stefáns Ásgrímssonar og Helgu Jónsdóttur í Efra-Ási í Hjaltadal. Ásgrímur ólst upp með foreldrum sínum og sótti námskeið í búnaðarfræðslu við Hólaskóla. Hann dvaldist með foreldrum sínum þar til hann hóf sjálfur búskap að Efra Ási, bóndi þar á árunum 1905-1926 en sum árin á hluta jarðarinnar á móti föður sínum. Kvæntist Sigmundu Skúladóttur frá Ysta-Mói í Flókadal, þau eignuðust þrjár dætur.
