Biographical history

Fæddur og uppalinn í Ytra-Vallholti, sonur Guðmundar Sigurðssonar og Guðrúnar Eiríksdóttur. Frá 1907 bjó Jóhannes ásamt Eiríki bróður sínum félagsbúi ásamt föður þeirra til ársins 1927 er Jóhannes tók alfarið við búskapnum og bjó þar til 1964. Jóhannes kvæntist Sigríði Ólafsdóttur frá Álftagerði árið 1933, þau eignuðust tvær dætur.
