History
Foreldrar: Björn Pétursson b. og hreppstjóri á Hofsstöðum og s.k.h. Una Jóhannesdóttir. Um tvítugt hélt Kristín til Reykjavíkur í hússtjórnarnám sem hún stundaði í tvo vetur. Auk þess mun hún hafa sótt nám utanskóla. Kristín kvæntist árið 1911 Kristni P. Briem og settust þau að á Hofsstöðum. Ári síðar fluttu þau til Sauðárkróks og settu þar á stofn verslun sem þau starfræktu til ársins 1961. Kristín og Kristinn eignuðust átta börn, fjögur þeirra komust á legg. Einnig tóku þau þrjú fósturbörn.
