History
Gísli Guðmundsson fluttist til Sauðárkróks 1904 og hóf hótelrekstur þar, fyrst í gamla barnaskólahúsinu, sem kallaðist þá Gistihúsið Baldur (við Aðalgötu 24/22) en keypti Hótel Tindastól laust fyrir 1920 og starfrækti þar greiðasölu til 1936. Ingibjörg systir hans stóð fyrir hótelinu með honum. Faðir þeirra voru Guðmundur Gunnarsson (1830-1888), siðast bóndi á Ingveldarstöðum á Reykjaströnd. Móðir var Valgerður Ólafsdóttir (1830-1910).
Gísli var ókvæntur og barnlaus.
