Guðjón Jósafat Einarsson fæddist 28. maí 1919 í Ási í Hegranesi. Foreldrar hans voru hjónin Valgerður Jósafatsdóttir frá Syðri-Hofdölum og Einar Guðmundsson, bóndi í Ási, Hegranesi. 1958 kvæntist Guðjón Steinunni Örnu Sigurjónsdóttur, þau eignuðust einn son og voru búsett á Sauðárkróki. ,,Guðjón starfaði lengst af við byggingar og múrverk hjá Byggingarfélaginu Hlyn hf. og síðustu starfsárin hjá Loðskinni hf. á Sauðárkróki."
