Efemía kvæntist Sigurjóni Gíslasyni, þau bjuggu á Syðstu-Grund og eignuðust einn son saman sem lést eins árs gamall. Fyrir hafði Efemía eignast einn son. Einnig ólu þau upp systurson Efemíu frá þriggja ára aldri.
