Friðrik Ingólfsson, garðyrkjubóndi í Laugarhvammi í Lýtingsstaðahreppi, fæddist á Lýtingsstöðum í Tungusveit 26. júní 1924. Foreldrar hans voru Ingólfur Daníelsson og kona hans Jónína Guðrún Einarsdóttir. ,,Friðrik var við ýmis störf á unglingsárum. Fór í Garðyrkjuskóla ríkisins og útskrifaðist þaðan 1942. Þau hjón byggðu býlið Laugarhvamm 1948 og hófu þar búskap með skepnur og garðyrkju. Vann hann mikið við húsasmíðar á næstu árum í sveitinni til að drýgja tekjurnar. Gróðurhúsin voru svo byggð þegar tími vannst til og breyttist Laugarhvammur smám saman í garðyrkjubýli. Síðustu árin vann Friðrik við smíðar og ýmiss konar handverk." Friðrik kvæntist 20. september 1947 Sigríði Magnúsdóttur frá Sauðárkróki, þau eignuðust fimm börn, fyrir átti Sigríður son.
