Biographical history
Sögufélag Skagfirðinga er elsta héraðssögufélag landsins. Það var stofnað árið 1937 og, hefur síðan þá starfað óslitið. Fyrsta bókin sem út kom á vegum Sögufélags Skagfirðinga voru Ásbirningar eftir Magnús Jónsson prófessor. Bókin kom út árið 1939. Í kjölfarið fylgdi Landnám í Skagafirði eftir Ólaf Lárusson prófessor, árið 1940 og Frá miðöldum í Skagafirði eftir Margeir Jónsson frá Ögmundarstöðum árið 1941. Sögufélagið hefur gefið út meira en 100 rit um sögu Skagafjarðar.
