History
Sigurlaug Brynjólfsdóttir, f. í Ölduhrygg 03.07.1870, d. 13.04.1966 á Sauðárkróki. Foreldrar: Brynjólfur Oddsson og kona hans Valgerður Rafnsdóttir. Um sex ára aldur fór hún í fóstur að Sveinsstöðum til Björn Þorkelssonar og Guðlaugar Gunnlaugsdóttur og átti þar heimili til 1904. Þar kynntist hún Jóni manni sínum, sem var vinnumaður þar. Þau bjuggu á hluta Sveinsstaða 1901-1904 og fluttu þá að Brandsstöðum í Blöndudal er þau fluttu ða Grófargili 1905. Eftir lát mannsins síns árið 1924 bjó Sigurlaug áfram á Grófargili með aðstoð dætra sínna næstu fjögur árin. Hún andaðist hjá dóttur sinni í Sauðárkróki 96 ára gömul.
Maki: Jón Benediktsson (03.07.1872-17.05.1924). Þau eignuðust 5 börn en eitt þeirra dó í bernsku.
