History
Dóttir Jóns Jónssonar á Kimbastöðum og sambýliskonu hans Bjargar Sigurðardóttur. Nokkru eftir fermingu fór hún til Reykjavíkur og síðar til Danmerkur þar sem hún var við nám og störf. Kvæntist sr. Guðmundi Benediktssyni frá Hrafnabjörgum í Svínadal. Þau fluttu að Barði í Fljótum árið 1933 og bjó Guðrún þar til æviloka. Guðrún og Guðmundur eignuðust fimm börn og ólu þar að auki upp stúlku frá níu ára aldri.
