Foreldrar: Guðmundur Sigfússon bóndi í Grjótgarði á Þelamörk og kona hans Steinunn Anna Sigurðardóttir. Maki: Valdemar Helgi Guðmundsson. Þau eignuðust tvo syni og ólu auk þess upp fósturdóttur. Þau hófu búskap á Bessahlöðum í Öxnadal en fluttust svo að Efri-Rauðalæk á Þelamörk 1905. Þaðan fluttust þau að Fremri-Kotum 1910 og bjuggu þar til 1924. Þá keyptu þau jörðina Bólu í Blönduhlíð og var Arnbjörg búsett þar til dánardags.
