History
Fædd og uppalin í Deildartungu í Borgarfirði. Fyrir aldamótin átti hún hlut í stofnun bindindisfélags og nokkru seinna var hún ein af stofnendum ungmennafélagsins Íslendings og í stjórn þess. Guðrún kvæntist árið 1912 Páli Zóphaníassyni sem síðar varð skólastjóri á Hólum. Þau bjuggu fyrst að Hvanneyri og að Kletti í Reykholtsdal, fluttu svo í Hóla árið 1920 þar sem þau bjuggu í átta ár. Fluttu til Reykjavíkur það sama ár og bjuggu þar til æviloka. Guðrún og Páll eignuðust sex börn.
