History
Sigurður Gunnar Jósafatsson, f. í Krossanesi í Vallhólmi 15.04.1893, d. 05.08.1969 á Sauðárkróki. Foreldrar: Jósafat Guðmundsson bóndi í Krossanesi og kona hans Guðrún Ólafsdóttir. Sigurður ólst upp hjá foreldrum sínum en missti móður sína átta ára gamall og tók systir hennar, Margrét Ólafsdóttir þá við hússtjórn á bænum. Hann fór í Hólaskóla og lauk prófi þaðan 1912. Hann fluttist með föður sínum og fjölskyldu að Syðri-Hofdölum 1914 og vann að búi hans uns hann gifti sig. Fyrstu þrjú ár hjúskaparins voru hann og kona hans í húsmennsku á Syðri-Hofdölum við lítil efni en vorið 1919 tóku þau sig upp og hófu búskap á Hvalnesi á Skaga. Bjuggu þar til 1923 en síðan á Selá á Skaga 1923-1924. Þá misstu þau nær öll lömb sín úr fjöruskjögri og heimilið leystist upp og Sigurður gerðist farandverkamaður. Kona hans varð vinnukona á Hvammi í Laxárdal.Árið 1926 settust þau að á Sauðárkróki og áttu þar heimili síðan.
Maki: Guðrún Þóranna Magnúsdóttir, f. 19.08.1895, d. 30.07.1968. Þau eignuðust átta börn og ólu auk þess upp frá fimm ára aldri dótturson sinn, Ævar Sigurþór.
