Fædd á Fossi á Skaga. Dóttir Sigurðar Gunnarssonar b. og hreppstjóra á Fossi og k.h. Sigríðar Gísladóttur. Kvæntist Ásgeiri Halldórssyni, þau bjuggu á Fossi frá 1903 en höfðu jafnframt einn þriðja hluta af Gauksstöðum til ábúðar til 1922. Árið 1951 fluttu þau til Sauðárkróks og þaðan til Reykjavíkur. Sigurlaug og Ásgeir eignuðust eina dóttur.
