Fæddur og uppalinn að Veiðileysu í Árneshreppi. Fluttist til Ólafar systur sinnar að Svanshóli í Kaldrananeshreppi árið 1924 er hún missti mann sinn frá stórum barnahópi og stjórnaði Ingimundur þar búi þar til börnin voru öll upp komin. Síðast búsettur á Finnbogastöðum. Ingimundur var ókvæntur og barnlaus.
